Andrew Gapinski, Manager of Horticulture, Arnold Arboretum
1 Session: Thursday, April 28, 6:00–7:00pm
Location: Hunnewell Building
How do trees fend off predators or cope with the diseases that afflict them. What makes one species more vulnerable than another? How does a tree survive a multi-year assault? Andrew Gapinski will speak about the factors that invite pests and diseases, including the role of environmental stress, and some of the indicators of the presence of a pest or disease. He’ll also speak about the Arboretum’s decision-making approach to treating trees.
