Botany Blast: Plant Morphology

William (Ned) Friedman, PhD, Director of the Arnold Arboretum and Arnold Professor of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, Harvard University
1 Session: Saturday, February 6, 9:30–10:30am
Location: Weld Hill Building
The Arboretum is an incredible laboratory for the observation of plants as they change through the seasons. But to truly appreciate these botanical changes, it helps to understand plant structures. In this Botany Blast, Arboretum Director Ned Friedman will speak about vegetative and reproductive structures of plants, their development, and growth habits. He’ll demonstrate how close observation reveals phenomena that can be seen repeatedly across plant families as one looks closely at the trees in the Arboretum or elsewhere.
