End of Year Favorites Part 5 (of 5): Leaves and Petals

endofyearfaves_leavesAndPetals_DirectorsBlog272015 has been an overwhelmingly beautiful year on the grounds of the Arnold Arboretum.  May 2016 be a year filled with botanical and horticultural wonders for all!

Here finally, my last Post from the Collections for 2015:

Day five (of five) of some of my favorite photographic memories of the venerable plants of the Arnold Arboretum in 2015, with a focus on the subtleties of color and overlapping edges of leaves and petals.

Magnolia, probably a zen magnolia, overlapping bases of petals (actually tepals) in early May (329-2004*B)

Ginkgo biloba, ginkgo tree, edges of four leaves in October (1175-81*B)

Fagus sylvatica, European beech, young plicate leaves just after bud break in early May (14599*A)
