Plant explorers from the Arnold Arboretum introduced new plants throughout the country. In Explorers Garden, a special collection of those plants can be found here at the Arboretum. Docent Frances Doyle will take you on a journey of discovery, highlighting some of the stars to be found like Rhododendron schlippenbachii (royal azalea), Davidia involucrata (dove tree) and Acer griseum (paperbark maple), the objective in the Arboretum’s most recent collecting expedition to China in fall 2015. Meet on Bussey Hill in Explorers Garden at the beginning of Chinese Path.
