Hamamelis spp. “Witch-hazel” is our Tree of Month for March 2016.

Camillo Schneider was a German plant collector and dendrologist who, forced to abandon fieldwork in China, sought asylum and employment at the Arboretum during World War I. He worked as Research Assistant from 1915 to 1919. He later returned to Germany.
