Sheila Connor began working in the Arnold Arboretum Horticultural Library in 1970, and retired in 2012 as Horticultural Research Archivist. Sheila’s visionary leadership brought the library and its collections into the digital age. Along with creating and curating the Archive Collection of the Arnold Arboretum in 1984, Sheila supervised renovations to the Hunnewell Building in 1993, and wrote New England Natives, a defining book about the Arnold Arboretum and the trees of the New England.

We also invite you to join Arnoldia editor Nancy Rose on Sunday, October 18, 3:00-4:30pm for a tour through our Maple Collection and enjoy the brilliant display of fall foliage. Our maple collection includes Japanese maple (Acer palmatum) and its cultivars such as A. pseudosieboldianum, A. japonicum, A. mono, and A. pubipalmatum.
