“On the 10th we had glorious sunshine, the hills opposite Cho-ni on the other side of the Tao River were clothed in the most beautiful autumn garb, every tree stood out plainly…. We went out on that day and took some pictures of the willows and poplar groves on the Tao River, the trees were resplendent in their pale golden yellow foliage.” (115)
