Migration from the good ole’ sunshine state took a little getting used to. But after a few years in New England, I think I’ve figured out how things work around here. My move to Massachusetts involved a lot of changes; friends, weather, traffic, and above all, a career change. After 5 years in the public garden industry, I have no regrets of leaving my carpentry path behind me, to indulge in the wonderful world of horticulture.
After working as a horticulturalist at Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich, MA, I was blessed with the opportunity to join the arboretum as a Gardener I in the spring of 2016. I am looking forward to combining forces with Jed Romanowiz and Jim Papargiris on the landscape maintenance team, taking care of the herbaceous layer of the arboretum, irrigation, and various other projects throughout the grounds.
When my time is not consumed with trees and plants, I enjoy hanging out with my wife and dog; exploring the outdoors and various other places around the world. Most of our summer is spent on the south river and Humarock beach, while the spring and fall are filled with hiking, camping, mountain biking, and traveling. I am beyond grateful and excited to be working at the Arnold Arboretum, and I look forward to learning and growing throughout the seasons with a great group of people.
