Associate Director of HR
Boston, MA 02130
As the Associate Director of Human Resources for the Arnold Arboretum, I work closely with the Director of the Arboretum, Ned Friedman, and his senior management team to help support the mission and objectives of the Arnold Arboretum. I coordinate and deliver all human resource operations in a confidential manner, including recruitment and on-boarding, employment compensation, and employee relations for staff members, volunteers, summer horticultural interns, and dozens of visiting scholars and researchers based at the Arboretum. I am also responsible for ensuring that a strong leadership and coaching culture cascades through the Arboretum. To achieve this, I proactively partner with department leaders and managers to identify and provide employees with development opportunities and ensure that they are able to meet current and future performance standards, understand employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns, identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the Arboretum, maintain current knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends, and effectively implement the delivery of HR programs initiated by HHR.
More about me – I started my HR career at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health back in 2005 where I held roles both as an HR Generalist and as an Employment Manager. Outside of work, I am a Zumba Instructor and teach six days a week for both Harvard and other places in the Boston area. In contrast, I am also video “gamer” and have been since I was 5 years old!
