Jed W. Romanowiz
Arboretum Horticultural Technologist

I started my position as Gardener II at the Arnold Arboretum in spring 2015. My nearly 20 years of experience in lawn irrigation and landscape maintenance allows me to contribute a great deal to the ongoing needs and care that the Arboretum grounds require. My daily responsibilities often vary but the majority of my time in the growing season is spent managing turf. A few of my other responsibilities include irrigation, amending soils, equipment maintenance, and assisting other crew members.
My free time is spent with my beautiful wife and daughters, gardening at home, woodworking, and fishing whenever possible. Family time takes priority in my personal life and we enjoy swimming, hiking, canoeing, crafts, cooking, and reading among many activities.
I’m blessed in life, proud to be an American, and thankful for all I have. The Arnold Arboretum is truly an intriguing and magnificent place. Each workday connects me more to nature and strengthens my appreciation of our world. I am proud to help maintain the grounds of the Arnold Arboretum and suggest others visit when in the area.
