I am a visiting Master’s student in the Hopkins Lab. I will be examining the behavior of pollinators that visit two sister species of Texas wildflower – Phlox drummondii and P. cuspidata. The specific aim of my field experiment will be to determine whether the behavior of conspecific pollinators varies between the sympatric zone and the allopatric zone of P. drummondii. So far in my Master’s degree, I have studied size-dependent mating strategies in simultaneous hermaphrodites at the University of Montpellier 2 (France). I have also studied the ways in which knowledge of the effective sizes of populations can be used to inform conservation strategies (Uppsala University, Sweden).
