Just one part of the Arboretum workflow includes careful and deliberate pruning of trees in the landscape. These cuttings, often seen placed at the side of the paved Arboretum roads, are chipped for mulch every Friday on a rotating basis by our Horticulture (“crew”) staff, then placed at the soil of their trees of origin. The cycle of our Living Collections runs full circle all year long.
