Seed Dispersal: Mechanisms of Flight
This month educators will be exploring several forms of winged seeds and testing their functions. What are the variations in flight patterns that arise from the different structures of the the wings? Does seed placement within the structure make a difference? Educators will also learn to set up simple classroom experiments that teach children how to conduct investigations, consider variables, and plan for standard testing protocols.
As always, resources and strategies for working with children in the outdoors will be shared and discussed.
