Tree Mob! Tree Health and Safety

It can be difficult to determine when a tree becomes a safety hazard, but there are telling signs that inform our arborists’ judgment in the care of the living collections. Head Arborist John DelRosso will speak about damage caused by recent storms and how his team gives their best effort to keep Arboretum trees as healthy and safe as possible. Meet at Acc. #12560*C Acer saccharinum at 6:00pm on Tuesday, May 3 on Meadow Road.

Parking: Park along the Arborway and enter at the Arborway Gate. Walk past the Hunnewell Building on Meadow Road to the large silver maple.
Public Transportation: Take the T to Forest Hills. Exit the upper level of the station and cross South Street. Turn right on South Street and head uphill, parallel to the exit ramp, to the Forest Hills Gate. Enter the Arboretum via the Forest Hills Gate and walk toward the ponds. Turn right on Meadow Road (allow 15 minutes). Or take the #39 bus and make your way to the Arborway Gate at 125 Arborway.

See map for gate locations.
